Teaching Philosophy

As a Kindergartener, each experience and first introduction to our school is unique and special, just as your child is. Each child brings something different to this class. In this classroom, I hope to promote self-confidence, active learning, and self-awareness. My goal is to foster your child’s growth and development by encouraging a strong foundation upon which he or she can gain and use the necessary skills to succeed in their educational journey. I hope to develop their skills to work together in small groups, in class as a whole, as well as individually. I believe that children are active learners. They learn through touching, trying, moving, talking, writing, drawing, and questioning. My classroom is designed to give your child opportunities to explore, investigate, create, and predict throughout the day. Our curriculum is designed to cover all areas of development: social, emotional, physical, and intellectual. My primary goal for this classroom is to provide a safe, supportive, uplifting and welcoming environment. It provides children with a variety of opportunities to step out of their comfort zone to try new things. The classroom will provide activities to engage my students in reading, writing, math, and art. As their teacher, I will work to help your child feel valued, empowered, listened to, and successful.
